Reading Time: 3 min

Oh hey there! ?

We are thrilled to have you with us as we are releasing our latest data enrichment tool: Attributes.

(Cue the balloon drop and confetti cannons.)

All the hard work that went into building Attributes was anchored to a vision: making it easy for any financial business to leverage consumer transactional data.

Simply put, define the things that are important to you — we’ll take care of all the data cleaning and categorization heavy lifting and return the actionable insights you need.

Now let’s do some innovating.

(Party horns.)

Everything Attributes

A single blogpost can’t capture everything there is to know about Attributes. So instead, we’ve made a series of in-depth explorations into different aspects of the tool. And if you don’t have time to read, we’ve got you covered: we’ve even set up a webinar.

Technical overview

Data Enrichment: From Chaos to Superpowers

While consumer transactional data holds immense potential, it is not readily actionable. You have to clean, categorize and manipulate it — all of which are real challenges.

Our data science team shares the design process that led to the creation of Attributes — and the capacity to turn data into insights that are meaningful and impactful in your specific context.

We need to talk about our core product

Even as we roll out Attributes, the work on our core product is never done!

What we improved

  • Speed — for both Authorize and GetAccountsDetail endpoints for RBC, Tangerine and Simplii.
  • Now, let’s take a moment to understand what this means. A few months ago, we’ve started implementing a new technique for connecting to and retrieving information from your customers’ bank accounts: a dual system starting with a fast connection, and slower resilient connection as back-up in case the fast one fails. We’ve written about this technique, in case you want to learn more.

With these current improvements, we’re pretty much done implementing faster connections to all major financial institutions in Canada. Yippee! ?

  • Special webhook enabling faster KYC verification. When we connect to a bank account, we can retrieve multiple layers of data. One of them is KYC information — your customers’ name, address, phone number, etc. With this feature, you can get that information more quickly as a separate package.
  • Need help setting up this feature? Contact us!

  • Portal. We added a handy button that allows you to print an account’s transactions directly on the listing page. Oh, and we gave the portal a cooler look and a new haircut — it’s 2019, after all.

  • As always, we’d be happy to hear from you.
